Episode 2 of "The Bible", epic new miniseries from History Channel, didn't post as high of ratings as week 1. Hard to compare with episode 1's 14 million viewers, episode 2, "Homeland/The Kingdom" attracted an impressive 10.8 million viewers, down 18 percent from the premiere. 3.2 million viewers were adults 18-49 (the demographic that determines advertising rates).

Were people turned off from episode 1, "Beginnings" or were the stories of Joshua defeating Jericho, Samson and Delilah, King Saul, David and Goliath, Bathsheba, and Solomon not as appealing to the average viewer.

Next week's "The Bible" episode 3 is expecting a huge ratings bump with the introduction of Jesus. Played by Diogo Morgado, Jesus will remain for the final three episodes. The 5 part series wraps up on Easter Sunday, March 31st.

At the conclusion of episode 2, "Homeland/The Kingdom" we see David and Bathsheba with their young son Solomon, future king of Israel. Next week's show features stories of "Survival" and "Hope." Viewers watching will see the stories of Zedekiah, Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel and the Jews returning to a Jerusalem, at that time occupied by the Roman Empire. The Birth of Christ, John Baptist, and Jesus and Peter will also be featured.

Roma Downey ("Touched By An Angel") and husband/producer mogul Mark Burnett ("Survivor", "The Voice", "Celebrity Apprentice") hit the ball out of the park with "The Bible" miniseries. It goes to show these episodes are filled with some of the most iconic, and still relevant stories ever told.

Episode 3 of "The Bible" airs March 17th at 8 p.m. EST on History Channel.
