This year, 2012, sisters Erica Atkins-Campbell and Trecina "Tina" Atkins-Campbell celebrate 12^th year of their ministry as Mary Mary.

Mary Mary tweeted today to give thanks to God for their ministry, "Very humbled by God's grace allowing us to be in this business for 12 yrs. No matter how "high" we go we remain at the feet of Jesus. Striving to rep Christ fully and tell the world that Jesus Loves us and we can have an abundant life with him.."

The duo's name 'Mary Mary' was inspired by two women recorded in the Bible; Mary-mother of Jesus Christ, and Mary Magdalene.

In 2000, Mary Mary introduced in their urban contemporary gospel music, the elements of soul, jazz, funk, and hip hop. The duo broke into the music scene with their hit song "Shackles (Praise You) from the album Thankful.
