Season 3 of Game of Thrones is expected more-or-less to follow the first half of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin's A Storm of Swords. Swords is Martin's third installment of the "Song of Ice and Fire" series Thrones is based on. "Song of Ice and Fire" is a series of 5 novels from Martin.

The show seems to have been well received from fans of the books and newcomers alike. Game of Thrones Season 1 took home several Emmys and Golden Globes.
