Eric Lee Ramsey, Accused Rapist, Posts “Im About To Be Shot,” on Facebook Before Police Shoot Him

What to do when the police are seconds away from busting down your door to shoot you? Eric Lee Ramsey thinks a Facebook status update is priority number one.

"Well folkes im about to get shot [sic]. Peace."

Spelling errors aside, there's something wrong with this generation.

Ramsey was accused of abducting and sexually abusing a female Central Michigan student at 9:30 Wednesday night. The 30 year old forced the student into his SUV and made her drive, all at gunpoint. He took her to an unknown location, tied her up and raped her.

After being forced back into the car Ramsey again threatened to kill the young woman. Noticing two cans of gasoline also inside the car, the victim jumped out and ran to the nearest house and began beating on the door.

The homeowners let her in and they called 911. Ramsey then proceeds to douse the house with gasoline, using the two cans from his car. The homeowners were able to quell the fire while police searched for Ramsey.

Finding him in the SUV, Ramsey drove straight into one of the police cruisers, injuring the driver and effectively damaging the car. Fleeing the SUV, Ramsey commandeered a sanitation vehicle and again proceeded to drive straight into another cop car.

All in all, the conflict ended around 5 am, lasting close to 7 hours total.

Central Michigan University Police Chief Bill Yeagley commends the victim and cites her as the true, "hero," and a, "strong individual."
