Colton Dixon, “A Messenger”, Breaking Soundscan, American Idol Records!

The Colton Dixon army has shown incredible support for his debut album "A Messenger". Since being released late last month sold over 22 thousand units and broken Soundscan records. "A Messenger" debuted at number 1 on Billboard's Christian & Gospel album chart, number 1 on Billboard's Christian & Gospel Digital album chart, number 1 on Billboard's Christian & Gospel Rock/Alternative album chart and number 15 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. It's the biggest solo new artist debut in Christian music history.

"A Messenger" on EMI-CMG/Sparrow Records had already released two hit singles "You Are" and "Never Gone". Colton Dixon's current single "You Are" reached number 1 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart in under a week. "Never Gone" also reached number 1 on the same chart and sold over 21,000 digital copies within the same week. "Never Gone" was also the first time an artist co-wrote a song he or she performed on the American Idol tour.

Beginning Feb. 21^st Colton Dixon will be touring with Third Day on the "The Miracle Tour" for 45 confirmed shows. The tour kicks off at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. Colton Dixon will also make a special pre-Miracle Tour appearance with fellow Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila on Valentine's Day. He's also on schedule to be at the Alive Festival in June and the Rock the Universe Festival in September.
