Billy Graham and Samaritan’s Purse Team Up To Aid Victims of Australian Disaster

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is partnering up with Samaritan's Purse to aid those affected by the Queensland Floods. The Billy Graham Evangelistic is sending disaster-prepared chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team to Bundaberg to help repair the physical and emotional damage to individuals and families that were affected by the recent Australian disaster. They're also partnering with Operation Christmas Child, to try and organize a network of local churches that can help out.

The BGEA, along with Samaritan's Purse are asking for any financial donations to help purchase supplies. Equipment needed includes: generators, protective gear, pumps, chainsaws, among many other supplies.

They're preparing a one month window to help out but are already assuming it will take longer. They're anticipating the affected community to need longer than a month, which is why any support with funding is greatly appreciated.

In 2009, Samaritan's Purse stayed two years to help rehabilitate Kinglake, Victoria after the Black Saturday fires. They also assisted in the wake of disasters in Fiji and the Phillipenes in 2012. Including this Queensland Floods mission, Samaritan's Purse so far this year, has already responded to 3 disasters worldwide.
