"The Bible" Miniseries on the History Channel Episode 2, "Homeland"

Episode two of History Channel's epic new miniseries, "The Bible" tackles the stories of Samson and Delilah, the Ark of the Covenant, Saul and David defeating Goliath.
The episode opens with Joshua and the Israelites invading the city of Jericho. Jericho's citizens are terrified of the Israelites because they serve the God that commands the wind.
With no clear entrance into the city, Joshua prays for guidance. An angel appears to Joshua, instructing him to march his army around the city's walls with the Ark of the Covenant for seven days. On the seventh day, the priests were to sound their trumpets and scream at the city.

God sends down a terrible thunderstorm and earthquake to destroy the city, enhanced with top-notch CGI effects, delivered in true, "The Bible" fashion.
Episode two of "The Bible" then skips 100 years after Joshua. Strong leaders like Moses and Joshua are no longer there to lead Israel, leaving its people vulnerable to Philistine rule. Samson, played by Nonso Anozie (Game of Thrones), is sent to drive the Philistines out of Israel.
Created by Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice, Celebrity Apprentice) and his wife Roma Downey (Touched By An Angel), "The Bible" is a 10-part series that sheds new light on some of the greatest stories ever told, bridging together the Old Testament with the New Testament, from Genesis to Revelation.
Last Sunday, "The Bible" became the most watched show on television of the year with 14.8 million viewers; 27 million counting the entire week.
You can catch the stories of Saul, and David defeating Goliath in the second half of episode two of "The Bible" airing Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on History Channel.
