American Idol Auditions Begin, Colton Dixon Gives Advice

Colton Dixon has been through the audition process of American Idol twice. He made it to Vegas in season 10 and then finished in the Top 10 in season 11. Now that season 12 auditions have begun, there are many aspiring artists wanting to share their music and their heart on national television.

Dixon gives advice to those auditioning this season and says, “Calm down, breathe, and be you. Nerves are going to run through you like crazy, but let that adrenaline push you even further than you would normally go, pour your heart out in the first audition and show them your personality."

People audition with many reasons. You can hear contestants share their dreams to make a big name for themselves, to be popular, to become rich, to record an album, to appear on national television, and even to be able to win to support their family.

What was Dixon's dream through American Idol? As the world already knows it - he loves to sing, and he loves to praise God. His motto is taken from John 13:16 - "A servant isn't greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the One who sent him."
