Amber Holcomb Closes American Idol Night in Epic Fashion [VIDEO]

Amber Holcomb closed the night on American Idol last night with an epic performance to end a great night of the Top 10 contestants.

Their were many strong performances last night with the favorites not losing any ground.  Angie Miller belted out Celine Dion's song "I Surrender and Kree Harrison smoothly sang Carrie Underwood's past Idol performance of "Crying".  Also, a stand out for the night was Candice Glover with her Jordin Sparks performance of "I Who Have Nothing" last night to put herself in the conversation as a top contestant.  

So clearly, the ladies are the standouts this season with one performance being able to shift the competition.  The great thing about performing last, is that you are the last thing that people remember.  So with all of the great performances last night, Amber Holcomb's performance was able to be the lasting impression in people's minds.  Also, Kelly Clarkson is one of the most successful and beloved Idol's in the shows history, so if Amber connected with all those fans who remember Kelly singing "A Moment Like This" in the past it could work in her favor.  

American Idol judge, Nicki Minaj even made the comparison of Holcomb to Whitney Houston, after her performance, which is a BIG compliment clearly and should give her even more confidence moving forward.
