After a successful athletic career in USTA (United States Tennis Association) Junior Tournaments, Quimi (pronounced kee-mee) traded in her racket for a guitar with a heart to sing and write songs about her relationship with Jesus. She recorded her first album “Quimi” with The Katinas and soon signed a deal with label services company, Indie Extreme. With a successful single “All for Love” charting at # 1 simultaneously on the Global AC, INSPO and Canadian Charts, Quimi’s music career began to open up into new opportunities.

Spending a year in Nashville pursuing her dreams, Quimi had numerous opportunities to tour with other artists. During that time she went out with The Katinas on their 2008 Christmas Tour, meeting new people and gaining experience on stage and on the road. The following Spring she joined Matt Brouwer on his “Love Can Save a Life Tour” throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, California, Oregon and Washington. During those 3 months, Quimi learned what it meant to be a touring artist. She began formulating a sound and a style that uniquely communicates her love for Jesus, her experience as a young Christian woman and the challenges of growing up in the current youth culture. She began writing songs for a new project and eventually moved to Houston, Texas where Matt Brouwer got involved in co-writing and producing her new EP “Where Is Your Soul”.

The result is a relevant, heartfelt set of 6 songs that communicate Quimi’s experience with life and her faith in God. The EP, aptly titled “Where Is Your Soul”, deals with some of the painful experiences young people are facing in the 21st Century, and who they look to for answers. In her song “Dear Heart”, the resulting pain of “Looking to all your friends to define you”, brings her to the clarity of needing and encouraging her heart to “just let go” as she has lost the will to “fight all alone” and reach out to Jesus to “bring her back to life again”. With the current environment of bullying, surface relationships, and a growing trend of young people at risk, “Where Is Your Soul” is a collection of songs that points a timely message to a generation and directs them to the only source of hope for all of our souls.
