This Christmas, acclaimed Christian music artist Natalie Grant will celebrate the holiday with her new project , Believe
, which released yesterday (Oct. 25).
Says Grant: “I'm the type of person who listens to Christmas music all year round and puts the Christmas lights up November 1st! I have a passion for the holiday, but more importantly, I have a passion for Who the holiday represents. And I hope that passion is reflected on this album."
Produced by Bernie Herms for SoulFuel Productions, Believe
marks Grant’s first full-length Christmas album. Songs in the 10-selections include the Grant-penned title track, “I Believe,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “Joy To The World,” “What Christmas Means To Me,“ “One Child,” and the “Silver Bells/Savior Came For Me/O Holy Night” medley, among other selections.
"Believe was so enjoyable to record because it is not defined by one particular style,” Grant continues. “All of the rules were thrown out and we drew from a lot of influences— Gospel, Big Band, traditional, Motown and classical."
In addition, Grant will be hitting major cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Seattle and Cleveland, for a multi-city Christmas tour in support of the album, where Grant will be performing acoustic renditions of selections from Believe
In other news, Grant’s 2005 critically-acclaimed release, Awaken
, hit the top-selling female Christian artist project to date this year. The album’s breakthrough single, “Held,” has also become a Top 20 hit on mainstream Adult Contemporary radio.
Grant is also currently a featured speaker and performer on “The Revolve Tour,” Women of Faith’s nationwide conferences for girls in the 7th-12th grades. Her first book, “The Real Me: Being The Girl God Sees,” released in September from W Publishing.
In conjunction with her ongoing efforts to raise awareness of and help combat international human trafficking, Grant has established the HOME Foundation. The organization is raising money, in partnership with Bombay Teen Challenge, to build a medical facility at the Village at Ashagram in India, a center devoted to the healing and rehabilitation of children illegally forced into the sex trade.
