The innovative, energetic, soul stirring, hip-hop crew, Mobsters of Light, came together in 2003. God gave Elder Nick (Hit-Man) a vision to start a gospel rap group. The focus: to provide today’s hip-hop lovers with an alternative sound and to souls for Christ. The original mobsters consisted of L. ‘Jay’ Jarvis (jayVcee), Les Thomas (Rebel 4 Christ), Jadrien Simmons (Mouth Almighty), and Elder Nick Smith (Hit-Man). Soon God blessed M.O.L. with the smooth flow and vocals of Trent Williams (Da Mediator) and anointed poetic flow of Brandawn Liddell (B-Dawn).
With the immoral standards of today’s mainstream rap, the M.O.L. is taking a bold stand against the constant deterioration in the society of music. They desire to see the next generation regain the true meaning of music with positive reinforcement. “Church Shaka” which is expected to cross over and reach both mainstream and gospel music listeners. M.O.L. is sending the message of hope to all who are willing to hear and receive – all with a sound that will capture the ear and move the heart. |
