Winter Jam Spectacular, founded by Grammy nominated Christian band NewSong, has become again world’s #1 tour. Winter Jam attendance surpassed the attendance for all other tours including Michael Jackson's The Immortal, Pink Floyd’s, and Roger Waters, according to Pollstar's 2012 Worldwide First Quarter Ticket Sales Charts - Top 100 Tours. This year’s attendance also surpassed Winter Jam last year’s by more than 10,000 people. Total attendance was over 530,000 people.
Winter Jam Tour 2012 that ended April 1st, toured across 47 cities from which 32 were sold out and was headlined by an alternative rock band Skillet.
"Being the headliner on Winter Jam was an incredible opportunity for Skillet," said John Cooper, the band's frontman. "The fans, the music, and the message were absolutely relevant and impacted people's lives each and every night. The worst part of Winter Jam was having to end the tour and go back to 'normal' life!"
Among others performers were Building 429, Group 1 Crew, Sanctus Real, Kari Jobe, Peter Furler, illusionist Brock Gill and nationals speaker Nick Hall. During the "OneVerse pre-Jam Party" you could see We As Human, Dara Maclean and For King & Country.
"For 17 years, each Winter Jam Tour has had its own unique personality, made so by not only the artists on stage, but by the entire team of people who made each night happen," said creator of the tour Eddie Carswell who is also one of the founders of NewSong.
"Although we are overwhelmed by the attendance figures and sellouts, what means the most to us are the stories we heard every single night of how God moved in people's hearts. Providing a platform for the Gospel message was why we began Winter Jam, and that mission remains true today."
This year’s Winter Jam was promoted by Premier Productions and presented by Holt International.
