Modern hymn writers and recording artists Keith and Kristyn Getty will tour with their Celtic Islands this spring! Getty’s will bring their collection of worshipful music to symphony halls across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland with altogether 10 performances that will showcase several award winning musicians and mass choirs. The US musicians that will accompany Gettys’ on tour are Dave Cleveland (Miley Cyrus and Amy Grant), bluegrass instrumentalist Jeff Taylor (Elvis Costello and The Chieftains), and fiddler Ross Holmes (Mumford & Sons). The UK musicians that will accompany the Getty’s are Fionan de Barra (Broadway’s Riverdance) and uilleann piper Patrick D’Arcy (“Snow White and the Hunstman”).
Kristy shares: “Singing together strengthens the body of Christ,.” “We’re thrilled to join with these magnificent choirs and musicians with the hope of encouraging believers in their faith.”
In addition, after the concert the audience can experience after-show performances with band members who plan to congregate in the lobbies and foyers of the concert halls to celebrate Celtic and American folk music.
“These concerts are about bringing people together to sing to the God who created us,” says Keith. “All throughout Scripture we see the importance of offering our praise. The Psalms go so far as to command us to shout with joy to the Lord. That’s what we’re hoping to accomplish on each stop of this tour.”
Fan favorites “In Christ Alone,” “The Power of the Cross,” and “O Church Arise,” will also be performed during the tour. The tour will also feature some of the new Getty/Townend hymns to be released on Keith and Kristyn’s highly anticipated new 2012 album.
