Fervent Records’ soulful new artist Dara Maclean is packing for the next chapter in her life with the release of her debut single “Suitcases” to CCM radio. The Texas native already has 31 stations in her bag, making it the most added song on the Christian airwaves this week. “Suitcases” is available on iTunes beginning today, May 3 and will be featured on her debut album entitled You Got My Attention to be released July 12.

Co-written by Maclean and Ian Eskelin, “Suitcases” is driven by an infectious beat and a vocal approach that is alternately intimate and soaring. The song is an offer of true release from "your burdens, heavy like gravity."

"I want to paint a picture of God's complete restorative love and how through Christ, we have an opportunity to live free," shares Maclean. "This song does just that."

A singer of incredible grace, power and control as well as a gifted songwriter, she is putting together a debut album that is as fresh and vibrant as any in recent years with Dove Award-winning producer Ian Eskelin. The project combines the soul and urban pop influences that infuse her musical approach with soaring vocals in service to intelligently uplifting lyrics. Currently, she is hitting the road to visit radio and play shows all across the country in support of her new single.

Maclean grew up outside Fort Worth, Texas, in a family that encouraged her love for music and ministry from her earliest days. She began singing at age 8, then went on to lead worship and actively pursue youth ministry. Maclean continues to serve with her family in their local church. Heavily influenced by Lauryn Hill and everything from the Motown era as well by contemporaries like Adele, Natasha Bedingfield, Ray LaMontagne and Marc Broussard, she incorporates the funk and soul she grew up loving into her music. The combination makes for a sound that is pure celebration, that captures as few artists ever have the joy and exuberance of being swept up in God's love.
